Stalactites not "stalagtites"

Stalactites and stalagmites are all over this cave. It's a good thing there are so many stalactites ...they make great hiding places for Kwala's family ! Do they grow up or down, I forget ? Where else would you hide in a dark, damp cavern, but behind stalagmites and stalactites !
